AB: An inertial measurement unit on the Phoenix spacecraft acquired acceleration and angular velocity data during the spacecraft's entry, descent and landing on 25 May 2008. Since the martian atmosphere, particularly its density, affected the spacecraft's motion during entry, descent and landing, these data contain information about martian atmospheric properties. We have determined vertical profiles of atmospheric density, pressure and temperature from these entry data. We shall report on the quality on the underlying data, the process of reconstructing the spacecraft trajectory and atmospheric structure, the implications of these results for near-polar atmospheric processes and properties, and the possibilities for comparison with other datasets. We intend to deliver these data products to the NASA Planetary Data System in due course.
