Astronaut selection test: Try this!

23 June 2008
ESA is giving the astronaut applicants who have passed the first hurdle an opportunity to test themselves before starting the next step in the selection process. In fact, everyone can have a go!

The application process is now closed, and the next phase in the European Astronaut Selection is now underway. The 700 to 1000 best applicants from the thousands who applied will now undergo psychotechnical tests.

These candidates can familiarise themselves with what they may encounter in the next stage of the selection process. Some of the cognitive tests they will face are freely available.

You too can download some of these tests for aspiring astronauts to try for yourself, visit http://www.esa.int/astronautselection/sampletest

These sample practice tests are the best possible way to prepare for the psychology screening and familiarise applicants with what to expect.
