This map of New England shows the locations of the imagers we use to monitor ionospheric and mesospheric activity. Positioned along a common meridian, these instruments are part of an ongoing ground-based tomography project intended to produce 3-D images of atmospheric phenomena.
To protect our equipment, we've  constructed simple, shed-sized buildings (inset: Cornish, ME).  Despite the capability to remotely contact our instruments via phone lines, we do rely on assistance from our host families who regularly check on the instruments and offer other forms of support.  The Beans in Farminton, the Barrs in Cornish and the Gilpins on Block Island have been remarkably and consistantly helpful throughout this project.  We thank them.
